Membership is a great way to support the Senior Center and its mission.  Annual membership is only $12 for an individual and $18 for a household.  Join anytime.  After July 1st, half-year memberships are $6 for an individual and $9 for a household.  All members vote on Board of Directors members and bylaw changes.  Click on one of the buttons above to join.

Board Service


Do you have extra time and want to help your community?  Do you have experience with fundraising, finances or organizing activities and services?   If you have a desire to serve your community, we have opportunities that could fit your schedule and interests.  The Community Action Partnership of Del Norte is recruiting qualified individuals to fill open positions on the Boards of Directors of several of its partner non-profits.

The mission of the Del Norte Senior Center is to provide the widest range of opportunities for seniors and other low-income residents of Del Norte County to live dignified and productive lives by developing resources to help meet their physical, mental, social and financial needs.

The board is made of up nine members.  We have three positions open.  This board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m.  Meetings are scheduled for two hours. In addition to regular attendance at board meetings, members are asked to participate in the planning and achievement of fundraising events and activities in support of the Senior Center and its programs.

Redwood Cove Senior Apartments: www.redwoodcove.org

Redwood Cove Senior Apartments is a 39-unit, HUD-subsidized, independent living apartment building for low-income residents aged 62 and older. The nonprofit organization owns the property and oversees its management through an agreement with the Del Norte Senior Center.

The board is made up of five members who have an interest in providing quality housing for the low-income seniors of Del Norte County.  We have up to four positions either open or soon to be open.  The board meets quarterly on the fourth Tuesday of January, April, July and October at Noon.  Meetings are scheduled for two hours, but normally take less.

Endowment Fund of the Del Norte Senior Center:


The Endowment Fund of the Del Norte Senior Center oversees the investment of an endowment established to support the Del Norte Senior Center.  This board is made up of five members.  We have three positions open.  The board meets quarterly on a schedule to be determined by the membership.  Meetings are scheduled for an hour.  In addition to regular attendance at board meetings, members are asked to participate in activities that encourage outside investment to help grow the endowment.

Gift Shop Items

The Del Norte Senior Center has a small gift shop which features gently used decorative items, jewelry and accessories. Donated items for our gift shop are welcome, as are donations of items suitable for fundraising prizes.

Del Norte Senior Center

The Del Norte Senior Center accepts donations to support our facility and its services.  Any amount is welcome and your gift is tax deductible.  Donations may be made online by clicking the button above.  If you prefer to make donations in another way, please see theContact Uspage for our phone number and address.


Del Norte Senior Center Endowment Fund

A separate private non-profit corporation maintains an endowment fund for the long-term benefit of the Del Norte Senior Center.  The endowment fund provides an annual distribution to the Del Norte Senior Center to help support its ongoing mission.  A gift or bequest to the Del Norte Senior Center Endowment Fund is tax deductible and an ideal way to be sure that your funds will support the health of the Del Norte Senior Center well into the future.  Pleasecontact usfor more information.

Volunteer

Do you enjoy preparing or serving meals?  Have a special skill you would like to teach to others?  Want to help deliver meals to homebound seniors?  Like to grocery shop for someone who can't leave home?  The Del Norte Senior Center is always looking for dedicated volunteers who want to help others and have fun in the process. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering.

Monetary Donations

The Del Norte Senior Center receives several forms of state and federal funding to support its services, but there is always a greater need than we have resources to meet.  Your support can make a vital difference for a senior in need of a meal or a place to go to keep active, engaged and healthy.
